Some interesting Chinese characters
My name has 山 as a part of the character. And I know that the Ancient Japanese kept passing one of the characters in the given name to the decendants. Although I'm single, I still want to pass 山 down.
I liked a lot things to do, video games, kinds of sports, maybe learning to play one instruments, and the most recent one is the game of Go.
The name of the game in simplified Chinese character is 围棋. I think the original name was only 棋, and after more and more board games are named with this character, then 围 was added later one to name the name clear when talking. The character 棋 has two parts, the left side is 木, while the right part is 其. 木 means wood, which is used as the board for kinds o games. 其 is for the pronounciation, that makes 棋 has the same as 其. In Japanese, the game's name is 碁. So the top is also 其, while 石 is at the bottom. 石, stone or rock, is used as playing pieces. I believe 碁 is a variant of the ancient characters of 棋, as well as 棊. So the wood is at the bottom, just like the board!
So I wanted to find a Chinese character, which contains is the elements of the Go game, 木 and 石, as well as 山 in my given name. I tried kinds of tools, and I got no good results. Finally I randomly saw this: 𣞏. So it has 3 parts, 木 is at the bottom, like a board; 石 is in the middle, like the stones on the board; three 山 are on the top. It looks like a Go game is being played at the bottom of a serial of mountains! A very nice venue to enjoy the game!
